What is CBD?
CBD or Cannabidiol is one of over 100 naturally occurring compounds found in the hemp plant. It is not intoxicating nor addictive. CBD works with our body's endocannabinoid system (ECS) to regulate, sleep patterns, stress levels, appetite, and energy all of which are essential to re-establishing our healthy balance. CBD is also found naturally in black pepper, flax seeds, echinacea, black truffles, dark chocolate and rosemary.
How can CBD that everyone is talking about help me?
Before you can understand CBD and what it may offer you, it is helpful to understand why and how it works. Not until the 1990s did scientists discover the human endocannabinoid system or ECS (which is why most of us never learned about it in science class). Functions like sensation, emotions, sleep cycles, movement, cell regeneration and many others throughout our brain and body are regulated by the ECS. CBD or cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds within our bodies that keep these systems in balance. When an imbalance occurs, our bodies react and we may experience undue stress, inability to sleep, soreness, stiffness and more.
What is the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?
Hemp and marijuana both come from the same family of flowering plants but they are distinctly and chemically different. Unlike marijuana which contains up to 30% of the intoxicating compound THC, hemp consists mostly of CBD and contains less than 1/2 of one percent (0.3%) THC. At TWINE CBD we take extra steps to separate the CBD from the hemp flowers to its purest form, CBD isolate which is completely THC FREE.
Is CBD Legal?
CBD derived from hemp is legal in all 50 states. The 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp from the category of controlled, classified products making it legal across the U.S.
What is the difference between inexpensive hemp seed oil and actual CBD oil?
Hemp oil is processed from hemp seeds which do not contain CBD. CBD is found in the flowers of the plant and extracting actual CBD is a rigorous process requiring many steps, thus the variation in cost as compared to hemp seed oil. It is important to make sure CBD products you buy have lab testing results available that show they contain CBD and the amount present.
Where does TWINE source their CBD?
Family farms are the source of our organically grown hemp. Our manufacturers works directly with American farmers from using proprietary seed genetics to extraction and processing of the highest quality CBD isolate.
How is TWINE tested for safety and purity?
TWINE's 99% Pure CBD products are tested from "seed to shelf". Each batch of CBD is tested 9 different times throughout the growing and processing cycle. All TWINE CBD products are QR coded with direct access to a Certificate of Analysis (COA) performed by a 3rd Party, ISO lab to ensure the purity of the CBD as labeled as well as the absence of toxins and THC.
How do I use CBD?
TWINE CBD is available in oils and topicals for ease of use. It is recommended to start with one serving per day (one dropper full) and adjust according to desired effects. Oils are quickly absorbed under the tongue enhancing our bodies’ ability to use the CBD. Topicals soothe and calm on-the-spot and are fast-acting. One pump (approximately 1/4 teaspoon) of cream delivers plenty of CBD and goes a long way.
